Experience aromatherapy whilst drinking coffee beans

Health spas and wellbeing hotels are very popular all around the world, with many offering specialised health and healing services to guests.  Aromatherapy treatment is one service which is often part of an overall hotel health package, and there are many fantastic aromatherapy practitioners operating out of a hotel environment.  In order to attract a wide range and large number of guests to their establishment, wellbeing hotels often focus on many different areas of health service simultaneously.  Along with specialised health treatments, hotels often provide guests with gourmet food, wine and fresh coffee straight from the coffee grinder.  Indulgence is often as much a part of the experience when visiting a wellbeing hotel as health is, and there is nothing more indulgent than having customised treatments while enjoying great coffee.

Aromatherapy is an age old practice that is enjoying a current renaissance in wellbeing hotels and private treatment centres.  It is a form of alternative medicine, although the medicinal aspects are advertised by some practitioners more than others.  All aromatherapy practitioners use essential oils  from plants in order to affect a person’s state of mind and health.  Some practitioners focus on creating a relaxing atmosphere and a meditative state of mind during their treatment, while others focus on trying to fix certain physical and mental conditions for their clients.  Because the term aromatherapy is used so widely, there are a number of practices and beliefs tied up in it, and a number of products that have been created to fit with the overall aromatherapy philosophy.  Some of the popular ways that aromatherapy products can be used is as massage oils and creams, medicine, and even hair and face care products.

There are three main methods of application for aromatheray products, aerial diffusion, direct inhalation and topical application.  All of these methods are used at wellbeing hotels, and are sometimes combined with other treatments in order to create original experiences for guests.  There are two main ways that aromatherapy treatments will be used in health spa situations – as a direct and dedicated aromatherapy session with a professional trained aromatherapist, and as a part of a regular massage or beauty treatment session.  While both of these types of sessions are designed to benefit the patient, dedicated aromatherapy treatments are generally more concerned with emotional and mental health than physical beauty and relaxation.  Soothing music or fresh coffee can sometimes be used as a way to relax or stimulate a patient – depending on the kind of treatment they are having done.

Many aromatherapy oils have a stimulating effect, and coffee can be used to deepen and expand this stimulation.  Coffee beans have a strong aromatic presence even before they are brewed into a coffee drink, and either the beans or the beverage can be used to create a focused and alert state of mind.  The enjoyment of gourmet coffee can be a great aspect to a wellbeing hotel experience, providing customers with a quality product to enjoy on site or take home with them for later.  While most aromatherapy practitioners are out to create a relaxed state of mind in their patients, coffee can be used as a way to open up certain pathways and stimulate people as they are being worked upon.
